San Diego Fine Art Society Painting Donation

Butterfly Drink -- 6" x 12" -- Acrylic on Canvas
Yay - I got the last one finished - I just have to varnish it. I decided to do it in acrylic as I was afraid that the oil wouldn't be dry enough in time. I love this painting! Man - I am loving my paintings a lot lately - that is SO unusual!

Nathalie S Davis Daily Painting a Day - Still Catching Up and some Pear Paintings

See? - I have been doing my daily paintings too...well, mostly, but not actually daily I guess. Each one of these are 6" x 6" and oil on either canvas panel or Masonite. I am catching up. I have not put these on eBay so if you are interested in purchasing them you will have to email me. I have not resolved the eBay vs gallery dilemma yet. I think eBay is so much fun - but I will have to significantly raise my prices if I continue with the galleries. Hmmmm.....there is an answer to this - I just have to find it. I will.

Daily Painting - Catching Up and Change

I know I already posted these paintings but I am doing it again - I am busy trying to catch up and reorganize and get back into m y "groove". For some reason I think that if I get caught up with my blog I will feel organized and have a sense of accomplishment and be able to get going again. Each of these 3 paintings are 12" w x 24"high. The first one is oil and the second 2 are acrylic. They were painted for a show which open this Saturday night Aug 23rd at Studio 2nd Street in Encinitas CA. The theme of the show is "Change" and our paintings are to somehow relate to or reflect our concept, definition or understanding of "Change." These are mine. Not only are each individual painting a representation of the idea of change - but the three of them together also represent the and illustrate the change that took place during my process of thinking planning and painting for this show. As I think I sadi before - there will be more paintings in this series.

Nathalie's Painting a Day Preview- Gorilla ACEO and Change 2

Here is probably the last ACEO that I will do for this eBAy contest. The theme is wild animals of course, and right now I am just not too much in the wild animal mood - actually I am just grumpy again from lack of sleep. The color on this gorilla isn't quite right - it is done on a tan card - so the white should really look more tan.
Mr.Gorilla will be available for bidding on Aug 15th - do an eBay search for ACEO YBA or for me - nathaliesdavis - and it should show up - enjoy all of the wild animal ACEOs too - I am sure there will be some pretty nice ones as there are some pretty talented artists in this group that do animals a lot.

...and here is Change 2 - the second in my doorknob/change series. It is acrylic on canvas and like this one too! I need to go try to get a nap - I just have not been sleeping for days and I am feeling pretty miserable. Oh well....

Nathalie's Painting a Day Preview-Standing Egret ACEO and Change

So here is another ACEO preview for the ACEO YBA promotional contest on eBay. The contest doesn't start until August 15 so I am holding them until then. It will be available for bidding right after midnight .
Standing Egret ACEO
2.5" x 3.5"
Acrylic on Card

Change 1
Oil on Canvas
12"x 24"
Well that looks weird - the top painting is itty-bitty and the bottom painting is 2 feet tall!

This is the first of 3 paintings (so far) based on the theme "Change." You can't tell but the background is a shimmery gold. I like this painting a lot - I like the feeling I get when I look at it. I am now busy working on paintings for a fund raiser gala put on by "hearts on fire" jewelry company and San Diego Fine Art Society- It is for art for a hospital or clinic...I should read the flyer again I guess. It doesn't really matter - I was asked - I said yes - it's for a good cause and now I need to get busy painting something! I thought I knew what I wanted to paint but it is not working out so well - I hate when that happens.

Nathalie's Painting a Day Preview- Egret ACEO - Available August 15th

Egret ACEO
2.5" x 3.5"
Acrylic on Masonite
This going to be short and sweet since I have so much catching up to do. I did this little guy today for one of the eBay groups I am a member of. It is the "Years Best Art Card" group and the competition starts Aug 15th. The theme is "wild animals." I will be posting this on eBay Aug 15th at 12:01AM Pacific time - or as close to it as I can. In the mean time I have a show I committed to put a piece in on Aug 23 with the theme "Change" - I am going to go shoot the photos of them (I have 3 done) right after I get done here. Also I have a commitment to a fund raiser gala auction and sale for the same date - Aug 23rd and I haven't even started on them - but at least I have a pretty good idea of what I want to do. I am still trying to figure out how I am going to resolve the eBay and gallery conflict too. OK - 'nuff fer now. Oooooh - this little egret guy is so cute - I just love him!!

I am coming back

After totally losing control of my schedule, time and space it's time to return to my routine. Why is it so darn hard to get back into doing the same thing I was used to doing only a few weeks ago. Not being a fan of routine and repetition to start with may have something to do with it. I have paintings to photograph, and so much to catch up on. In the meantime - maybe you'd like to entertain your self with this test to see if you are right or left brained. I've done a bazillion of these over the last 5 decades and it always pretty much turns out the same. I am not one or the other - and this test was right on the money again. You try and let me know the results.
